Dries Buytaert to Lead Conference With an Emphasis on Drupal 8 Training & Certification
Acquia, the digital experience company, today announced that Dries Buytaert, Drupal creator and Acquia co-founder and CTO, will keynote DrupalCon New Orleans on May 10. DrupalCon serves as the gathering place for thousands of people from across the globe who use, develop, design, and support the Drupal platform.
"Last year, we released Drupal 8, which was an incredible milestone for the Drupal community," Buytaert said. "Acquia continues to fuel the pace of adoption and innovation by educating builders and developers and helping them to shorten their cycles of innovation using Drupal 8. In the spirit of training, I am excited to announce the availability of a brand new Acquia Certification exam, the Acquia Certified Developer - Drupal 8 exam. This is the first comprehensive developer certification for Drupal 8, and it will be available to take at DrupalCon New Orleans."
Drupal 8 establishes the new standard for digital experience delivery with an object-oriented, API-based architecture. It introduces hundreds of new breakthrough capabilities that give organizations the speed, security, and flexibility they need to innovate at scale. Acquia experts will do a deep dive into Drupal 8 topics in New Orleans in more than 15 sessions. Featured sessions include:
- D8 Module Acceleration Program
- The Potential in Drupal 8.x and How to Realize It
- State of Drupal
In addition to the new Acquia Certified Developer - Drupal 8 exam, attendees will also be able to earn an Acquia Certification credential at DrupalCon New Orleans by registering for the Acquia Certified Developer, Back-end Specialist, Front-end Specialist, Drupal Site Builder, or Drupal 8 Foundations exams. As a DrupalCon-exclusive offer, free retakes will be offered onsite.
Acquia will host a Partner Summit on May 9 that will give attendees the opportunity to connect with local Drupal shops and global digital advertising agencies, learn tips for building an Acquia/Drupal Technical Center of Excellence, gain insight into the Acquia product roadmap, and network with key Acquia executives including Tom Erickson, CEO, Joe Wykes, Vice President of Global Channels, Chris Stone, Chief Products Officer, and Loren Jarrett, Chief Marketing Officer.
On May 11, conference-goers are invited to attend Acquia's industry meetup. This informal networking event will spotlight how leading organizations in media, entertainment and publishing, higher education, NGOs, public sector, financial services, and life sciences are using Drupal to deliver contextually relevant digital experiences across channels, to create new revenue opportunities and to change the ways they can interact with their customers.
The conference will take place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from May 9-13. Acquia is a diamond sponsor of DrupalCon New Orleans and will exhibit at booth No. 301. Attendees are encouraged to stop by the Acquia booth's 'Query Lounge' to get answers to support and technical questions, and also participate in mini-sessions to learn about topics including performance, security, debugging, upgrading from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8, and much more.
